In 2022, we began ten Scholarships of $25 per month to support students in Year 10. In Sri Lanka, if you want to go to university you need to take extra classes such as English.
This is not possible for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. In October 2023 we were delighted to meet three of these students, who are now in Yr 11, whose aspirations are to be a Bank Manager, Doctor and Lawyer. These students are from the Navalar School in Jaffna where each year we are having been doing a distribution of school bags and exercise books at the beginning of the year to support the younger students’ education.
